Mahomet-Seymour Girls’ Tennis Sets School Record with Dominant 8-1 Victory Over Lincoln

Mahomet-Seymour’s unbeaten girls’ tennis team swept the singles matches on Thursday (Sept. 26) and left Lincoln with an 8-1 dual-meet victory.
The win enabled the 2024 team to break the school record for dual-meet wins in a season, set by last year’s 11-2 squad. The current team has a 12-0 overall record.
The M-S singles’ lineup consisted of Violet Franklin (who won 8-5 at No. 1); Evie Hillard (who won 8-0 at No. 2); Ava Gilbert (who won 8-1 at No. 3); Caroline Aden (who won 8-1 at No. 4); Harper Young (who won 8-2 at No. 5); and Zoe Harlan (who won 8-0 at No. 6).
In doubles, Ashley Shoaf and Lindsay Gowler teamed up for an 8-0 win at No. 1, and at No. 2, Lillian Meyer and Harper Young were triumphant at No. 2, 8-0.
M-S returns to action on Monday (Sept.30) at Charleston.
