Mahomet-Seymour Girls’ Basketball falls to Mt. Zion

In Monday’s Apollo Conference girls’ basketball opener at Mount Zion, Mahomet-Seymour’s Bulldogs were unable to hold a lead that was 13 points entering the fourth quarter and dropped a 46-45 decision to the Braves.
M-S is 4-2 overall and returns to action tonight with another Apollo Conference road test, at Charleston.
Nichole Taylor scored 18 points and corralled a career-high 17 rebounds at Mount Zion.
Makayla Rosenbery scored nine points. Teammates Savannah Orgeron and Ashley Wheeler each contributed five points for the Bulldogs.
Rosenbery had three assists and three steals. Taylor also had three steals.
Cayla Koerner grabbed seven rebounds and Wheeler cleared six boards.
M-S carried a 39-26 lead into the final quarter, but the Braves finished the game on a 20-6 run.
