Mahomet-Seymour drops three late-week games

Madisyn White stroked two hits and stole two bases on Thursday (May 11), but the Mahomet-Seymour softball team dropped a 5-1 decision at home to Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley.
White scored the lone M-S run.
Kenadi Granadino had two hits for the Bulldogs and drove in the team’s only run.
Ava Henderson pitched four innings, permitting one hit and one walk and no earned runs. Reliever Katherine Severns suffered the loss, though she yielded just one earned run in three innings.
On Saturday (May 13), the Bulldogs lost a doubleheader at home to Mount Zion, 13-2 and 16-5.
Mount Zion (11-1) clinched the Apollo Conference crown with the sweep. M-S ended 5-7 in league play and tied for fourth place with Mattoon.
Granadino and Madelyn Logsdon were the only M-S athletes with hits in each game. Granadino was 4-for-7 for the doubleheader and has four consecutive games with two hits.
Logsdon had three of her hits in the nightcap and has six games this season with at least three hits. Sydney Ward delivered RBI in each game.
Jenna Wade socked two hits in Game 2.
M-S pitchers Henderson and Severns each registered one strikeout in their respective starts.
M-S (10-18) returns to action on Monday (May 15) at Danville.
