Mahomet-Seymour Dominates Apollo Conference Wrestling: Lands Four First-Team All-Conference Selections

Apollo Conference champion Mahomet-Seymour landed four first-team berths in voting by coaches for the league’s all-conference wrestling team.

The Bulldogs’ honorees were senior Lukas Alstetter (106 pounds), sophomore Justus Vrona (126 pounds), senior Gage Decker (157 pounds) and junior Brock VanDeveer (190 pounds).

M-S also secured seven second-team berths: freshman Gideon Hayter (113 pounds), sophomore Colton McClure (120 pounds), freshman Talon Decker (138 pounds), junior Kaleb Collins (144 pounds), senior DeAndre Hughey (150 pounds), senior Cale Hillard (175 pounds) and sophomore Noah Daniels (215 pounds).

The Bulldogs had a 17-5 overall record and ended 5-0 in Apollo Conference matches.

The team leaders in wins were Daniels (43), Gage Decker (40), Vrona (39), VanDeveer (36), Hughey (35) and McClure (35).
