Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs Dominate Apollo All-Conference Baseball First Team with Three Unanimous Selections

Three Mahomet-Seymour underclassmen were unanimous selections for the Apollo all-conference baseball first team.
In all, the conference champion Bulldogs had four first-team picks and three second-teamers.
The unanimous choices were junior pitcher Mason Orton and junior position players Gavin Bailey and Raymond Long.
Also earning a first-team berth was senior Noah Butler.
The second-team was highlighted by senior Finn Randolph, who was tabbed as both a pitcher and as a position player. Junior Camden Heinold was the other M-S second-teamer.
The Bulldogs were 10-0 in conference action and 28-9 overall.
Orton compiled a 6-0 record with 84 strikeouts and a 1.79 earned run average. Randolph was 7-2 with 49 strikeouts and a 2.50 ERA.
Bailed was the team’s top hitter (.402 batting average) along with 42 runs batted in. Butler (.390 average) and Long (.360 average) were the next two M-S batsmen.
Randolph batted .330 and led the team with 36 runs scored. Heinold finished with a .308 batting average.

Bailey was one of 28 athletes statewide chosen for the Illinois Coaches Association Class 3A All-State first team.
The first team consisted of 18 seniors, eight juniors and two sophomores.
Bailey was recognized as a left fielder.
