Mahomet-Seymour Boys’ Tennis Dominates Danville with a 6-0 Sweep in Home Opener

Mahomet-Seymour opened the home portion of its boys’ tennis season on Tuesday (April 9) by sweeping Danville, 6-0, at Middletown Courts.
Samuel Lunney (No. 2 singles), Quade Bristle (No. 3 singles) and Gage Decker (No. 4 singles) all won in straight sets without losing a game.
At No. 1 singles, Caidan Kogut earned a 6-3, 6-2 win over Nemo Ray.
Kogut and Jack Louis teamed up for a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at No. 1 doubles.
At the No. 2 position, Decker and Ty Gorrell prevailed 6-0, 6-0.
On Saturday (April 6), M-S tied for 13th in the 16-team Mattoon Tournament.
The Bulldogs’ No. 1 doubles’ team of Jacob Atteberry and Caleb Bushue was 2-2.
At No. 2 doubles, M-S’ Keaton Roberts was paired with Will Lewis, from Teutopolis. They were 1-2.
Both of the Bulldogs’ singles entries were 0-2: Elliott Religioso and Lucas Raquel.
Teutopolis won the tournament with 15 points. Runner-up Effingham St. Anthony had 10 points. M-S totaled three points.
M-S (2-0 in dual meets) returns to action on Thursday (April 11) at home against Effingham.
