Mahomet-Seymour boys’ golf places second at Viking Invitational

A single shot separated the top two boys’ teams on Friday (Sept. 3) in the Viking Invitational at Danville’s Turtle Run Golf Course.

Meet champion Edwardsville (303 composite) edged runner-up Mahomet-Seymour (304 composite) by one stroke in the battle for team supremacy.

The Bulldogs were led by Reis Claybrooke, who fired a 72 and tied for second individually. In six meets this season, Claybrooke has had the team’s best score in five meets.

Other M-S participants were: Zach Courson (76), Erik Christianson (78), Blake Harvey (78), Brogan Hennessy (84) and Brian Coyne (87).

M-S returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 7) against Monticello at Monticello Country Club.
