Mahomet-Seymour boys’ basketball comes back to defeat Normal University High

Normal University High more than doubled the score on Mahomet-Seymour’s boys’ basketball team in the first quarter of a Tuesday (Feb. 13) non-conference contest in Mahomet.
U-High led, 25-12, after one quarter and was still in control, 53-44, entering the final eight minutes.
The Bulldogs held the visiting Pioneers to three fourth-period points to salvage the win.
Landyn Hannah scored a team-leading 18 points. Cade Starrick meshed 12 points and Lucas Dyer ended with 10 points. Both Jackson Bohm and Henry Wagner contributed eight points. Finn Randolph tallied the other two M-S points.
Dyer doled out seven assists and Bohm had four assists. Bohm hauled down seven rebounds and Hannah had six points. Wagner garnered three steals.
M-S (12-15) returns to action on Wednesday (Feb. 21) against third-seeded Centennial in the Decatur Eisenhower Class 3A Regional tournament. The Bulldogs are the No. 5 seed entering the semifinal showdown.
Centennial and M-S played in the season-opener three months ago and the Chargers collected a 67-43 victory.
