Village of Mahomet to host Clean Up Day and Electronics Recycling Event
The Village of Mahomet will host a clean up day and electronics recycling event on June 20 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., or until containers are full.
Village residents are welcome to dispose of unwanted junk or non-hazardous garbage, including bikes, metal exercise equipment, kitchen appliances and window air conditioners at the Village of Mahomet Transportation and Parks and Recreation Facility at 218 S. Lake of the Woods Rd.
Computers, printers, stereos and cell phones will be recycled.
The following items will not be accepted, though: tires of any kind, televisions or computer monitors, car parts or components, liquids including paints, stains, oil, fertilizer, pesticides, weed killer, fuels and thinners. Also, lead acid batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, burned material or ashes, concrete, bricks dirt or rocks will not be accepted.
Village residents must show ID to participate.
