Mahomet Public Library Offers Online Library Card Registration for Township Residents

Getting a library card at the Mahomet Public Library is now easier than ever, thanks to a streamlined online registration process for Mahomet Township residents. Whether you’re a lifelong book lover or a new resident eager to explore the library’s resources, you can apply for a card from the comfort of your home.

How to Register for a Mahomet Public Library Card Online

Step 1: Complete the Online Form

Step 2: Verification and Card Issuance

  • If your registration is approved through the library’s online verification system, you’ll receive an email with your new library card number. You can begin using your card immediately for digital resources and online services.
  • If the library is unable to verify your information online, you’ll receive an email asking you to visit the library in person to complete your registration.

Important Notes

  • Outstanding Fines or Fees: If you or your minor children have unpaid fines or fees at another library within the system, these must be settled before you can receive your Mahomet Public Library card.
  • Residency Requirement: Online registration is available only to residents of Mahomet Township.

In-Person Registration Still Available

Prefer to apply in person? Bring the following items to the library:

  • A completed library card application (available online or at the library)
  • Photo ID
  • Proof of current address (driver’s license, recent bank statement, bill, lease, paycheck stub, or canceled mail-digital versions accepted)

If you don’t have proof of address, you’ll be issued a temporary card valid for two weeks. The library will mail you a welcome letter, which you can bring in as proof of address to update your card.
