The Mahomet Public Library is ringing in the season with a series of joyful holiday events designed for all ages. From musical performances to hands-on crafts and sweet treats, there’s something for everyone to enjoy as the community comes together to celebrate the holidays.
On November 30, at 2:00 pm, the library will host a special performance by the Mahomet-Seymour High School Madrigals. Dressed in Renaissance costumes, the talented ensemble will fill the library with enchanting a cappella holiday selections. The performance is free and open to the public, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Get creative and festive on December 6, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with the library’s DIY ornament craft event. All supplies needed to make beautiful holiday ornaments will be provided, so attendees can let their imaginations run wild.
On December 7, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, the library invites aspiring bakers to a beginner hands-on workshop on cookie decorating. Participants will learn the basics of royal icing and the flooding technique. Registration is required for this event, so be sure to sign up early to secure a spot.
These holiday events are a wonderful way to connect with neighbors, celebrate the season, and create lasting memories. For more information and to register for the cookie decorating workshop, visit the Mahomet Public Library’s website or stop by the front desk.
