Mahomet Music Festival makes line-up changes
The Mahomet Music Festival Committee has announced line-up changes to the late August event.
Hardy, Lainey Wilson and Champaign Freight will be replaced by Jordan Davis, Andrew Ripp and Tyler Rich.
Committee Chairman Dave Parsons said, “while we are disappointed that Hardy and Lainey Wilson will not be joining us this year, we are extremely excited about who we were able to secure as replacements. It is going to be a great year!”
Hairbanger’s Ball and Strung Out! will take the stage Aug. 27. A night of country music follows on Aug. 28 with Jordan Davis, Tyler Rich, and Onoleigh. Saturday’s Christian music headliner will be Andrew Ripp.
Davis has been named an “Artist to Watch” by Billboard, Rolling Stone, CMT, Pandora, Shazam, Amazon Music, Sounds Like Nashville, The Tennessean, SiriusXM and Whiskey Riff.
A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, Davis graduated from LSU and briefly pursued the path of his degree working as an environmental consultant; however, his passion for music and songwriting eventually compelled him to move to Nashville in the summer of 2012.
The 2020 ACM New Male Artist of the Year nominee’s debut album Home State has accumulated over 1.5 billion streams worldwide and features his three consecutive No. 1 hits: Platinum-Certified “Slow Dance In A Parking Lot,” the Double Planum-Certified “Singles You Up” and Platinum-Certified “Take It From Me.”
In 2019 Davis won Best New Country Artist at the iHeart Radio Music Awards and was a nominee for ACM New Male Artist of the Year. He was also named Billboard’s Top New Country Artist of 2018 as well as Country Aircheck/Mediabase’s Most Heard New Artist of 2018. The hitmaker recently released a six-song, self-titled EP featuring the current Top 20 single “Almost Maybes” as well as a collaboration with pop superstar Julia Michaels, “Cool Anymore.”
Tyler Rich is a Country Singer/Songwriter from a small Northern California farming community called Yuba City, and based in Nashville, TN.
He found his love for country music after his cousin took him to see George Strait at the age of eight. From George, to Garth, to Alan Jackson, Tyler immersed himself into the music.
Three months before his 14th birthday, his Grandparents surprised him with a guitar for Christmas, and he never stopped playing. After countless hours working on his craft, and spending years on the road touring across the country with multiple bands, Tyler decided it was me to pursue his career as a solo artist. Since that day Tyler has performed alongside some of the industry’s top artists including, Cole Swindell, Sam Hunt, Dan + Shay, Gloriana, Canaan Smith and Maddie & Tae.
Tyler’s first single “Radio”, hit iTunes in May 2015 and is already rotated on numerous radio stations across the country, including iHeartRadio. Tyler was named “One to Watch in 2015” at the Country Music Social Media Awards (CMChay’s) in Nashville, June 2015.
Andrew Ripp is a singer-songwriter based in Nashville, TN. Raised outside of Chicago, Ripp creates music that pushes the boundaries of genre stereotypes, blending the energec beats of pop music into a soul culture and adding the depth & groove of soul music into a pop culture – all underlined by his personal journey of faith.
As a touring artist, Ripp has opened for Sara Bareilles, Andy Grammer, Needtobreathe, Jon Foreman, and the Plain White T’s. He has performed on high-profile TV shows including ABC’s Bachelor in Paradise and Entertainment Tonight and his songs have been featured on American Idol, House of Lies, and One Tree Hill.
