Chestnutt, Atkins and Carrollton to headline Mahomet Music Festival

The 2018 Mahomet Music Festival, formerly known as the Sangamon River Music Festival, will headline country music starts Rodney Atkins and Mark Chestnutt August 24 and 25 at 9:30 p.m., respectively.

The festival committee has also scheduled Christian group Carrollton to take the stage Saturday morning, August 25 at 11 a.m.

Mark Chestnutt was scheduled to appear at the festival in 2017, however, was not able to perform because of Hurricane Harvey.

About Mark Chesnutt

Mark Chesnutt is one of Country’s true musical treasures. Critics have hailed him as a classic Country
singer of the first order and some of Country music’s most elite entertainers, from George Jones to George Strait, echo the sentiment. Mark Chesnutt’s stature is easily gauged. He has 14 No. 1 hits, 23 top ten singles, four platinum albums and five gold records to his credit; he maintains a front-and-center
presence with a hefty tour schedule year after year.

”Mark’s dedication paid off. He developed a true blue fan base. Fans, he confides, “are the reason for my
success.”

His fans helped his records to climb the charts one right after the other making him one of
Billboard’s Ten Most-Played Radio Artists of the ‘90’s. Mark’s singles were some the decade’s most
memorable; from the fun tempo “Bubba Shot the Jukebox” to emotional ballad “I’ll Think Of Something.”

Mark is easily identified for his string of hits including “Brother Jukebox,” “Blame It On Texas,” “Old
Flames Have New Names,” “Old Country,” “It Sure Is Monday,” “Almost Goodbye,” “I Just Wanted You To Know,” “Going Through The Big D,” “It’s A Little Too Late,” “Gonna Get A Life,” and one of his biggest, “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing;” a song that held its position at the top of the charts for four consecutive weeks. With a trademarked voice, Chesnutt has set the bar for his generation and those that follow in his footsteps shaping the music of today’s country music newcomers and the new country music format.

About Rodney Atkins

Rodney Atkins is as authentic as they come. Whether he’s taking in a baseball game with son Elijah or
entertaining thousands of fans with one of his many mega-hits, Atkins expresses a refreshing simplicity
and sincerity that reflects the values he holds so dear: Putting family first, making the most of what you
have, and staying true to yourself in a rapidly changing world. Those values infuse Atkins’ many hits,
including the six No. 1 smashes “Take a Back Road,” “It’s America,” “Cleaning This Gun (Come On In Boy),” “These Are My People,” “Watching You” and “If You’re Going Through Hell (Before the Devil Even Knows),” and now his most recent single, “Eat Sleep Love You Repeat.”

About Carrollton

Named after a small town in Kentucky, the band Carrollton shares the music of truth and hope
conceived from the struggles and experience they’ve encountered along their loyal journey together.
Forming in 2008, the band now consists of members Jordan Bailey (bass), Michael Loy (drums), Jeremy
Maynard (lead guitar) and Justin Mosteller (lead vocals and guitar). Every member of Carrollton firmly
believes that “family comes first.” Between the four men and their wives, they have 8 young children.
Oftentimes the men will travel through the night on a weekend to get home before their kids wake up,
and the families will also try and make it to weekend-long events or conferences.
