Mahomet McDonald’s to hold fundraising night for MAYC
Some kids love McDonald’s.
The kids who participate in Mahomet Area Youth Club programming are no different.
But on Wednesday, Nov. 6, McDonald’s in Mahomet, located at 1006 Purnell Drive, will show the MAYC kids a little extra love as it gives back part of the proceeds from sales between 5 and 7 p.m. to the youth organization.
MAYC participants will not just sit back and let the McDonald’s employees do all the work, though. Some of the club members will be behind the counter at McDonald’s that night, saying hi and helping out here and there.
Being part of the McDonald’s team was a highlight for some of the students in 2018.
When Executive Director Sara Balgoyen arrived in the spring, she quickly learned about the kids’ enthusiasm.
“It was something that the kids told me about like right off the bat,” Balgoyen said.
Balgoyen said the event is a fundraiser, and that MAYC is grateful that McDonald’s would not only give money back, but also provide an opportunity for the organization to raise awareness about their mission to serve kids.
