Mahomet Honor Parade Route set for Aug. 29

The Mahomet Lions Club has released the parade route for the 2020 Honor Parade on Aug. 29.

The event to honor local first responders, active military and veterans will begin at 9 a.m., leaving from Lincoln Trail Elementary.

The 1.7 mile parade will travel south down Division, west on Main, south on Turner, east on Dunbar, south on Division, east on Union, north on Elm, west on Franklin and west on State Street.

Signs will be placed along the parade route to remind attendees to practice safe social distancing between families.

Registration for the parade is open until Aug. 21.

Community organizations are invited to participate with a decorated vehicle or float. A $100 entry fee, which will guarantee a spot in the parade for one vehicle, a driver and a passenger. 

All proceeds will go to the Mahomet Lions Club for community needs.
