As the calendar flips to August, the Mahomet community is lacing up for the 30th Annual Run Mahomet, the signature fundraiser in support of the Mahomet Area Youth Club (MAYC). This event not only fuels friendly competition but also directly benefits more than 300 local youth each year.

The 2025 Run Mahomet features three race distances—5K, 10K, and Half Marathon.

USATF certified courses and chip timing provided by It’s Racetime ensure a top-tier racing experience. Runners participating in person will compete for awards in both overall and age group categories, with divisions stretching from as young as 10 and under for the 5K to 70 and over for all races. Notably, overall winners are excluded from age bracket prizes to allow broad recognition of achievements across all age groups.

For those unable to join in person, virtual race options are available, allowing times to be submitted between August 2 and August 5. However, only in-person runners are eligible for official awards and standings.

All funds raised, including race registration and additional donations, are funneled directly to MAYC, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Mahomet’s youth ages 6-18 and their families.
