Mahomet Family Dentistry Athlete of the Week: TNT Firecrackers
With basketball season in full swing, the TNT Firecrackers have joined the action, bringing the Mahomet-Seymour community together.
On Jan. 21, the Firecrackers demonstrated their exceptional skills and sportsmanship during a Regional Basketball Skills Competition at Middletown Prairie Elementary. The Firecrackers went on to play against rival Effingham Lightning at Mahomet-Seymour High School on Jan. 27. Although the Firecrackers lost, they showcased their dynamic playstyle and teamwork, captivating fans.
Adding to the day’s excitement, a spaghetti dinner fundraiser was held at 4 pm to support both teams. This event highlighted the community’s spirit, bringing people together to enjoy a delicious meal while supporting local sports programs. The Firecrackers were able to raise $1000 for their program.
Looking ahead, the TNT Firecrackers are gearing up for their next challenge against the CUSR Mustangs on Tuesday, February 6. This showdown is scheduled to take place at Mahomet Seymour High School, starting at 6 pm, amid the excitement of the MSHS Boys JV and Varsity games. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, as a large crowd is expected to witness this clash of titans. The game promises to be another thrilling chapter in the TNT Firecrackers’ journey, as they continue to inspire and unite the community through their passion for basketball.
