Mahomet Family Dentistry Athlete Of the Week: Taylor Mills and Tate Bode
Mahomet-Seymour Junior High eighth-graders Tate Bode and Taylor Mills left their mark on the program, capturing All-State honors at the IESA Class 3A State Meet on Oct. 15.
Bode finished the 2-mile course in 11 minutes and five seconds. He ended in 17th place.
Mills finished ninth, finishing the course in 12 minutes and 14 seconds, cutting 47 seconds off her 2021 state competition time.
Both Bode and Mills led the Bulldog during the 2022 season.
Mills won the Monticello Invitational (12:35.2 seconds), finished second at the Parkside Invitational (12:30.6 seconds), second at Cowchip 12:14.6 seconds, second at the Champaign Edison Invitational (12:58). She blew away the competition at the Champaign County meet, winning by more than 32 seconds, finishing the course in 11:57.2.
Bode finished third at the Monticello Invitational (11:2.4), seventh at the Champaign County meet (11.27.5), fifth at the Parkside Invitational (11:13.3), third at the Cowchip Classic (11:28.4) and second at the Champaign Edison Invitation (11:41). He also broke the course record at Lake of the Woods at 11:19.
