Mahomet Family Dentistry Athlete of the Week: Brooke Hartman
Mahomet-Seymour junior Brooke Hartman is no stranger to success on the golf course, but her recent performances have elevated her game to another level. In a stretch of dominant play, Hartman has consistently led the Bulldogs to victory, and her stellar individual efforts have not gone unnoticed.
In a recent conference dual meet against Mattoon, Brooke showcased her calm demeanor under pressure, tapping in a birdie on the final hole to tie for first place with an impressive score of 38. Her clutch performance helped Mahomet-Seymour secure a comfortable team victory with a score of 187, compared to Mattoon’s 224.
Hartman didn’t stop there. At the Champaign/Piatt County meet in Rantoul, she emerged as the individual medalist, shooting a 79 to finish first overall. Her efforts contributed to a nearly 30-stroke team win for the Bulldogs, reaffirming her position as one of the top golfers in the area.
Not only does Hartman bring her A-game to every meet, but she also delivers when the stakes are high. At the Highland Park triangular, she again posted the low score of 43, guiding her team to another convincing win against Monticello and Heyworth.
Brooke Hartman’s leadership and consistency are key factors in Mahomet-Seymour’s early-season success. As the Bulldogs head into their next event, a 2-man scramble at Brookhill, Hartman will undoubtedly be a player to watch.
