Mahomet Family Dentistry Athlete of the Week: Auggie Gaudio
Setting the pace and leading from the front, Augustus (Auggie) Gaudio has consistently been a force to be reckoned with this cross-country season. As Mahomet-Seymour High School’s standout runner, his stellar performances and unwavering commitment to excellence earn him the spotlight for Athlete of the Week.
The sophomore’s impressive resume includes a myriad of exceptional times. At the Richard Spring Invitational, he set the course ablaze by completing the 3-mile run in a swift 15:34.90. Gaudio also set a PR at the Gene Jones Runnin’ Red Invitational where he clocked an astonishing 15:14.80 for the 2.x Mile Run.
Gaudio placed third for Mahomet-Seymour on Sept. 23 in the 185-runner East Peoria boys’ cross-country invitational at Illinois Central College. Gaudio’s 3-mile time was 16 minutes, 17.30 seconds. He also placed fourth overall at the Lee Halberg Boys’ Cross-Country Invitational, covering the 3-mile course in 16 minutes and 18 seconds.
