Madalyn Marx Secures 400m Crown at Indoor Class 2A track and field state meet

Madalyn Marx won a championship on Saturday (March 23) in the Illinois Prep Top Times unofficial girls’ indoor Class 2A track and field state meet at Illinois Wesleyan University’s Shirk Center.
Marx won the 400-meter crown with a time of 57.55 seconds. The event had 23 participants. She also earned a medal for placing third in the 200 meters (25.39 seconds).
The Bulldogs’ other state medalist was Ava Boyd, who finished fifth in the 1,600 meters (5:10.70).
The other M-S entry in the Top Times meet was the 800-meter relay, which ended in 10th place. The foursome of Evie Hillard, Lauren Burr, Kara Carney and Ayla Finfrock was timed in 1:48.89.
Medals were presented to the top eight finishers in each event.
M-S will return to action on Saturday (March 30) in the Champaign County Invitational at Urbana.
