M-S Volleyball wins Bulldog Invitational

Mahomet-Seymour’s seventh-grade and eighth-grade volleyball teams each emerged victorious on Saturday (Jan. 22) in its own four-school invitational.
The eighth-graders topped Charleston 25-11, 25-15, Monticello 26-24, 25-27, 15-11 and Tolono Unity, 25-23, 25-20.
The seventh-graders defeated the same opponents, decisioning Charleston 25-15, 25-11, Monticello 25-16, 26-28, 15-11 and Tolono Unity 25-23, 25-20.
Earlier in the week, both also teams won at Clinton. The eighth-graders captured a 25-18, 25-17 victory while the seventh-graders were triumphant 25-21, 23-25, 25-18 on Thursday (Jan. 20).
On Tuesday (Jan. 18), only the eighth-graders got to play Urbana at home and registered a 25-6, 25-9 sweep. Urbana was unable to play the seventh-grade match due to COVID-19 protocol.
The M-S eighth-graders are 8-1 overall. The seventh-graders have a 7-1 season record. Both squads return to action on Wednesday (Jan. 26) at home against Maroa-Forsyth.
