M-S Volleyball remains unbeaten in Apollo Conference play

Caylee Folken recorded 10 assists, six digs and three kills on Tuesday (Oct. 4) as the Mahomet-Seymour volleyball team swept to a home victory over Mount Zion, 25-13, 25-11.
Ellie Barker served four aces to go with three kills. Maddie Gaede contributed five kills, three assists, three blocks, two digs and one ace.
On Wednesday (Oct. 5), the Bulldogs secured a two-set sweep at Taylorville, 25-20, 25-20.
Avery Allen totaled 12 digs and nine kills while Addie Eisenmann contributed nine digs. Folken finished with 14 assists.
M-S (19-3) returns to action on Thursday (Oct. 13) at Effingham, when it will put its six-match winning streak on the line. Seventeen of the M-S wins this season have occurred in two-set sweeps.
The league-leading Bulldogs are 10-0 in Apollo Conference matches.
The Bulldogs’ underclassmen teams also defeated Mount Zion. The JV squad was triumphant, 25-10, 25-10. The freshmen prevailed, 21-8, 21-11.
Taylorville’s JV team topped M-S, 25-16, 25-20, but the Bulldog freshmen were victorious, 21-18, 21-18.
