M-S Volleyball begins season with two wins

Maddie Gaede registered 12 assists and Avery Allen amassed 12 kills on Tuesday (Aug. 23), helping Mahomet-Seymour to a 25-21, 25-22 volleyball sweep in its season-opener over Champaign Central.

Allen also had seven digs.

Chloe Pruitt contributed four blocks and two kills. Caylee Focken had seven assists and five digs. Libby Bodine ended with six digs and Grace Rodebaugh delivered five kills.

On Wednesday (Aug. 24), the Bulldogs scored a two-set sweep at Danville, 25-13, 25-12.

Folken collected seven assists and three aces.

Brianna DiFilippo added four assists and Sydney McKinney landed two kills.

M-S (2-0) returns to action on Tuesday (Aug. 30) at home against St. Joseph-Ogden.

The Bulldogs’ JV team dispatched Central, 25-9, 25-14 and the M-S freshmen were victorious, 25-14, 25-15.

The M-S JV team handled Danville, 25-13, 25-13 and the Bulldog freshmen were victorious, 25-7, 25-13.
