M-S tops visiting Taylorville

Three players scored in double figures on Tuesday (Dec. 14) as Mahomet-Seymour dispatched visiting Taylorville 57-48 in an Apollo Conference boys’ basketball game.
For the first time this season, the Bulldogs have won back-to-back games.
Quenton Rogers led a trio of M-S players in double figures. He knocked down 19 points. Blake Wolters notched 18 points and Dream Eagle – who made all five of his field-goal attempts – contributed 12 points.
The Bulldog starters collectively made 20 of 31 field-goal attempts and 7 of 12 three-point tries. Overall, M-S bagged nine three-point shots.
Rogers and Wolters each pulled down six rebounds. Ben Wagner claimed five boards.
Rogers chipped in with five assists and three steals. Wagner and Wyatt Bohm each handed out three assists.
The Bulldogs led, 15-13, after one quarter but fell behind at halftime, 21-20. M-S used a 19-11 fourth-period run to put the game away.
M-S (5-4 overall and 3-2 in conference action) returns to action on Saturday (Dec. 18) at Normal University High in a non-conference contest.
