M-S tennis picks up win over Watseka

The Mahomet-Seymour girls’ tennis team swept to victory over Watseka on Tuesday, posting a 9-0 win in a dual meet hosted by the Warriors.
For the match, the Bulldogs (1-3) did not lose a set.
The closest battle was at No. 1 singles, where M-S’ Annie Bao decisioned Hannah Morales, 7-5, 7-5.
At No. 2 singles, Bulldog Mrinali Kesavadas dropped just one game while overpowering Ashton Peters, 6-1, 6-0.
Other singles winners were: Amalie Fried (No. 3), Britta Slupski (No. 4), Emma Clements (No. 5) and Manvika Kohli (No. 6).
Slupski has a 2-2 season record.
In doubles, Bao and Kesavadas teamed up for an 8-5 win at No. 1. Fried and Slupski were triumphant at No. 2, 8-4. At No. 3, Clements and Molly Fried were victorious 8-5.
Bao and Kesavadas are 2-1 overall in doubles.
