M-S tennis defeats Charleston

Mahomet-Seymour won four of six singles matches on Monday (Sept. 26) at Charleston, but needed two wins in doubles action to clinch the 6-3 team triumph.
Emily Young, at No. 2 singles, was victorious over Maci Mayhall, 7-6 (5), 6-2.
At No. 4 singles, Holland Martin topped Sarah Wright, 6-2, 6-0.
At No. 5 singles, Claire Johnson extended her winning streak to four matches, defeating Mia Carcasi, 6-2, 6-3.
Adella Bird was triumphant over Tessa Ashley at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-3.
Savanna Amatyleon suffered a tough-luck loss at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 4-6, 10-7, to Maggie Goetten.
Amatyleon and Young recorded an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles over Mayhall and Goetten.
Martin and Johnson handled Gough and Wright, 8-4, at No. 2 doubles.
M-S (6-5) returns to action on Thursday (Sept. 29) against Urbana at the Illini Grove courts.
