M-S Swimming finishes second at Illini Prairie Conference Invitational

The Bulldogs placed second on Saturday in the six-school Illini Prairie Conference Invitational at Stanford Olympia.
Meet champion Pontiac amassed 495 points. M-S totaled 381, one point more than third-place Bloomington Central Catholic. Charleston was fourth with 324 points.
Bulldog diver Max Katz won his specialty and also took third in the 100-yard backstroke.
Teammate Carter Logsdon placed third in the 50-yard freestyle as well as a fourth-place performance in the 100-yard butterfly.
Zach Orr earned a pair of fourth-place medals: in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke.
Capturing fifth-place medals were Evan Herriott in the 100-yard freestyle, Mitch McAnally in the 50-yard freestyle and Caden Raquel in the 100-yard butterfly. David Andrawes took sixth in two individual events, the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard backstroke.
Two M-S relays earned third-place medals.
Katz, Orr, McAnally and Herriott teamed up in the 200-yard medley. Joining forces in the 200-yard freestyle were Logsdon, Andrawes, McAnally and Herriott.
The other Bulldog points came from the fourth-place finishing 400-yard freestyle foursome of Katz, Raquel, McAnally, and Herriott.
M-S will celebrate its Senior Night match in a triangular meet with Jacksonville Routt and Lincoln at Illinois College, in Jacksonville.
