M-S softball falls to Normal Community and Pontiac
By Fred Kroner
Aubrie Shore and Karley Yergler slugged solo home runs on Saturday (April 24), but Mahomet-Seymour didn’t have enough offense and dropped a four-inning 13-3 softball decision at Normal Community.
Yergler had two of the Bulldogs’ five hits. Shore, Ashley Campbell and Maddie Cortez each ended with one hit.
On Monday (April 26), Yergler blasted a solo home run, but that was all of the offense that Mahomet-Seymour could manage in a 3-1 loss at Pontiac.
Yergler’s home run was her team-leading fifth.
Yergler also pitched all six innings scattering two hits while striking out 10 batters. She suffered the loss, despite not yielding an earned run.
In 23 innings pitched this season, Yergler has fanned 44 batters.
M-S’ other hits were singles by Campbell and Kenadi Granadino.
M-S (3-3) returns to action on Thursday (April 29) at home against St. Joseph-Ogden.
