M-S Soccer wins two at Urbana Invitational

Led by all-tournament selections Isaac Warren and Kai Jones, Mahomet-Seymour’s boys’ soccer team won two of three matches and placed second in the two-day Urbana Soccer Invitational.
The Bulldogs opened tourney play with a 3-2 triumph over Mascoutah and then topped Marion, 8-0, in the semifinals.
Warren produced a hat trick to go with three assists against Marion. Nolan Wheeler and Travis Hoffman netted two goals apiece and Brian Woodbury scored once.
Wheeler notched two assists and Woodbury ended with one.
Against Mascoutah, Wheeler, Woodbury and Caden Alt all tallied one goal.Jones, Hoffman and Brody Back all contributed one assist.
In the championship match, M-S fell to Springfield, 5-0.
The Bulldogs (2-1-2) return to action on Tuesday (Sept. 5) at home against Chatham Glenwood.
