M-S Soccer shuts out Effingham on Senior Night

Seniors had a memorable night on Tuesday (Oct. 12) as the Bulldogs reached a season’s high for scoring in a 12-0 rout at home of Apollo Conference foe Effingham.
Eleven of the 12 M-S seniors notched goals and the 12th – Clayton Gibson – was credited with two assists and earned the shutout as the keeper.
One senior (Braeden Heinold) recorded two goals.
The other 10 goals were courtesy of Logan Alt, Keagon Ashby, Greyson Campion, Koby Eisenmenger, Andre Grace, Sam Henrichs, Titus Payne, Anthomy Ramirez, Xavier Schmidt and Justin Straub.
Payne and Ramirez are the team leaders in scoring with 12 goals apiece.
Campion, Gibson and Payne connected for two assists apiece. Others with assists were Alt, Eisenmenger, Camden Heinold, Ramirez and Schmidt.
Gibson (12) and Payne (nine) are the team-leaders in assists.
Camden Heinold, a freshman, was the lone non-senior with an assist against Effingham.
For the season, 22 Bulldogs have either scored a goal or produced an assist.
M-S is 14-7-1 overall and 9-2 in Apollo Conference action. The Bulldogs conclude the regular season on Thursday (Oct. 14) at home against Taylorville, which forfeited the first scheduled game between the schools.
