M-S Soccer places second in Apollo Conference

Junior Mitchell McAnally’s hat trick propelled the Mahomet-Seymour soccer team to a 10-0 triumph on Thursday (Oct. 14) over Apollo Conference foe Taylorville at Middletown Field.
McAnally also had an assist as the Bulldogs closed league play in second place, with a 10-2 Apollo record.
Anthony Ramirez hit two goals and added one assist.
Five other Bulldogs contributed goals: Andre Grace, Sam Henrichs, Titus Payne, Carson Reed and Justin Straub.
Logan Alt, Payne and Nick Tjahadi all contributed two assists. Kai Jones and Reed each added one assist.
Goalkeeper Keagon Ashby had two saves as the Bulldogs earned their 10th shutout of the season.
In 12 Apollo matches, M-S outscored its opponents, 68-3.
M-S (15-7-1 overall) returns to action in Class 2A regional play on Wednesday (Oct. 20) against the host school (15-3-6) at Normal West.
