For the past seven years, Mahomet-Seymour’s boys’ soccer team has been the dominant one in the Apollo Conference.

In that span, the Bulldogs have a cumulative record in league play of 65-6-11, which averages out to less than one conference loss per season.

The key to many of those victories has been the defense. In the past seven years, covering 82 conference matches, M-S has allowed 67 goals in conference play.

That’s barely an average of eight-tenths of a goal per match.

The defense has been nothing short of spectacular in recent years. During the four falls that the Class of 2025 was in high school, M-S permitted 16 goals in 44 conference matches.

That’s an average of less than four-tenths of a goal per match.

The defense has been outstanding overall, not just when playing Apollo foes.

During the past seven years, 61 of the school’s 109 wins in boys’ soccer have been achieved by shutouts. In the last four seasons, 43 of 65 wins (66.2 percent) were in matches where the opponent was held scoreless.

It’s no wonder that two recent goalkeepers and other defensive mainstays earned positions of prominence on the Mahomet-Seymour Quarter-Century boys’ soccer team.

Without further ado, Mahomet-Seymour’s quarter-century boys’ soccer team:
