M-S hires Heather Smith as Chief School Business Officer
Mahomet, IL—Heather Smith will be hired as the new Chief School Business Officer in the Mahomet-Seymour Schools.
Her contract is on the March 9, 2020 Board of Education Meeting agenda for approval. Ms. Smith brings 11 years of experience as a CSBO from the Danville District #118 Schools. Prior to that, she worked in the private sector.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance/International Business from Illinois State University, a MBA from Benedictine University, as well as a CSBO endorsement.
“We are thrilled to be able to hire a CSBO of the caliber and with the experience of Heather Smith,” said Board of Education President Max McComb. “She will be an asset to our organization.”
Ms. Smith will be paid a prorated salary of $115,000 for the remainder of the 19-20 school year, and starting July 1, 2020, a salary of $117,000 for the 20-21 school year. She will start her new position with the district on March 23, 2020. Ms. Smith replaces Mr. Trent Nuxoll, who is leaving the after 9 years as CSBO to take a job in the private sector.
