M-S grad intervened in school shooting, now recovering from surgery
Jason Seaman, a 2007 Mahomet-Seymour graduate, was shot three times when he intervened to stop a school shooter at Noblesville West Middle School in Indiana Friday morning.
Seaman is a seventh-grade science teacher and a football coach.
According to reports, two people, including Seaman and a student were taken to the hospital with injuries from the attack. Seaman, who was shot in the abdomen, hip and forearm, is now recovering from surgery at the IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Kristi Seaman wrote on Facebook that her son is “doing well.”
The male student who was the shooter has been detained.
