M-S Girls’ Tennis Remains Unbeaten with 9-0 Sweep Over St. Thomas More, Improves to 17-0

For the eighth time this season, Mahomet-Seymour’s undefeated girls’ tennis team didn’t lose a match while scoring a 9-0 victory at the Middletown Courts over St. Thomas More.
Bulldogs Holland Martin (No. 4) and Elana Religioso (No. 5) didn’t lose a game in their sweeps.
Two of their teammates continued their unbeaten ways. Eliza Agate (6-2, 6-4 win at No. 1) is 14-0 overall and Charlotte Mercer (6-1, 6-0 at No. 6) is 8-0. Also undefeated is Religioso, who is 15-0.
Other singles’ winners were Adella Bird (6-2, 6-3 at No. 2) and Ashley Shoaf (6-4, 6-3 at No. 3).
In doubles, the No. 2 unit of Haley Reed and Religioso posted a 6-0, 6-0 win.
The No. 1 duo of Bird and Martin picked up a 6-1, 6-4 triumph.
At No. 3, Lillian Meyer and Harper Young scored a 6-1, 6-2 win.
M-S (17-0) will try to wrap up an undefeated regular season in its home finale on Tuesday (Oct. 15) against St. Joseph-Ogden.
