M-S Baseball picks up first win against Tri-Valley

Chase Wagers drove in the tie-breaking run in the bottom of the fifth inning on Thursday (April 22) as Mahomet-Seymour rallied at home to beat Tri-Valley, 8-5.
Wagers’ RBI lifted the Bulldogs into a 6-5 lead. Wagers and Andrew Norman each had two hits for M-S.
Nate McFall scored three runs.
Left-hander Mateo Casillas, who relieved starter Zach Courson after four innings, picked up the win. Casillas pitched two innings and recorded all six outs via strikeouts.
On Friday (April 23), M-S recovered from a 7-1 deficit to pull into a 7-7 tie before Eureka eked out an 8-7 win by scoring an unearned run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Zac Carr, who became the first Bulldog with a four-hit game this season, suffered the hard-luck loss.
Carr and Evan Ruzich each drove in two runs. Carter Selk scored two runs.
M-S (1-3) returns to action on Monday (April 26) at home against Pontiac.
