M-S Baseball defeats Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond

Five Bulldogs collected two hits apiece on Thursday (May 6) as M-S had its fourth straight game scoring in double figures, an 11-4 triumph at home over Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond.
Nate McFall, Nolan Nierenhausen, Will Sampson, Carter Selk and Chase Wagers sparked the M-S offensive attack with two hits apiece.
Wagers drove in four runs and has knocked in 10 runs over his past four games. Selk had two RBI.
Blake Wolters, who scored two runs, had a single to extend his hitting streak to eight games.
The Bulldogs stole nine bases, including two each by McFall and Jaedon Lager.
Five M-S pitchers took to the mound. Only starter Wagers (three innings) worked more than one inning. He was backed by a six-run second inning uprising and earned the victory.
Former M-S student Clay Seal pitched 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief for A-L/A-H. Seal fanned four batters and walked three.
M-S (7-4) returns to action on Tuesday (May 11) at home against Mattoon. The Bulldogs have won six of their last seven games.
