Lucky Moon to host pie eating contest during Mahomet Public Library’s ice cream social
Pie and ice cream go together like peanut butter and jelly.
So, it seems fitting that Lucky Moon Pies and More will host a pie eating contest during the Mahomet Public Library’s ice cream social on July 17.
The ice cream will not be on top of the pie, but Mahomet’s own Mark Cabutti (Mr. C) will emcee the event. Cherry pie will be available in the adult contest section and chocolate pie will be available for the youth.
There is no registration fee, but advance registration at Lucky Moon or on the Mahomet Public Library website is required. Each participant will get a free t-shirt. A prize will be awarded to the overall winner in each category. Lucky Moon owners, Fred and Emily Kroner, even think it’d be great if teams competed against each other: teachers vs. administrators, firemen vs. police or football players vs. basketball players.
The library will also have live music by the Kevin Hart Trio and yard games. Visitors are asked to bring lawn chairs.
It seems to me that there is an agenda to derail Parkhill. Understandable in some cases. Someone has an agenda always does. Then again, there would be nothing east of Mahomet if it wasn’t for the Parkhill’s development of land and the water district. Lines get blurred and crossed. Sometimes intentional and sometimes not. For example look at Fred Kronner getting free advertising by promoting Luck Moon at the library as an article. Isn’t that grabbing free advertising? Gray areas!
