Louis ties for fourth at Monticello

Jacob Louis carded a 45 on Tuesday and became the sixth M-S player to shoot the team’s low score for a match this season. The Bulldogs dropped a dual-meet decision at Monticello, 172-183.
Louis tied for fourth individually.
Other scores that counted for M-S included a 48 by Brandon Collins and a 49 by Sam Mitchaner.
Two other Bulldogs, Zach Courson and Grant Harvey, each fired 51s.
Jameson Drinkwater totaled a 52.
The Bulldogs return to action today at Charleston in a match that also includes Effingham.
Mahomet-Seymour Girls’ golf
Ainsley Winters placed 10th individually and Mahomet-Seymour’s team was third in the combined Champaign/Piatt County meet on Tuesday at Lake of the Woods.
Five schools entered the tournament, but just four had enough to be scored as a team.
Winters fired a 100.
Teammates Sylvia Byron and Emma Yates each carded 110s and tied for 12th.
Hannah Cassel’s 114 left her in 15th place. Cecelia Abramson tied for 16th with a 119. The other M-S participant was Rachel Burke, who ended 19th with a 124.
St. Thomas More captured team honors with a composite of 319. Monticello was second (385) followed by M-S (434) and Centennial (524).
M-S returns to action next Tuesday, also at Lake of the Woods, against Mattoon.
