Louis leads Bulldogs at Mattoon Invitational

The Mahomet-Seymour boys’ golf team placed 30th in the two-day Mattoon Invitational, despite getting a season-best 18-hole score (355) in Saturday’s round at Meadowview. Friday’s first-round action took place at Mattoon Country Club.
The two-day M-S leader was Jacob Louis (180). Next for the Bulldogs was a collaborative effort between Brandon Collins (first-day 91) and C.J. Shoaf (second-day 90) for a combined 181.
Trailing them were Jameson Drinkwalter (188), Grant Harvey (189), Sam Mitchaner (194) and Jackson White (211).
On Thursday, Erik Christianson fired a 41 and placed third individually in a dual meet at Charleston.
The Trojans beat the Bulldogs, 162-186.
Other M-S scores were Carter Selk (46), Shoaf (48), Austin Remus (51), Zach Courson (54) and Jackson Glenn (60).
The Bulldogs return to action today in the Champaign County Invitational at Lincolnshire Fields Country Club.
