Music fans in Champaign County are in for an electrifying evening as Los Texano’z headline the Summer Concert Series at the Harry L. Swartz Campground in the Middle Fork River Forest Preserve on Saturday, August 9 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
Hailing from Arcola, Los Texano’z have become a staple of the Central Illinois music scene, beloved for their vibrant Tejano sound, a blend of Mexican and American influences enriched with German and Czech dance rhythms like waltzes and polkas. Led by singer and accordionist Edgar Gutierrez, the band’s performances are marked by high energy and a deep respect for the rich traditions of Tex-Mex music.
With years of experience performing at festivals and community events across the region, Los Texano’z are known for uniting audiences of all ages. Their signature sound draws on the legacy of Tejano music pioneers while adding modern flair, making each performance both a tribute and a celebration.
The Summer Concert Series by Champaign County Forest Preserves offers free, family-friendly access to live music in the great outdoors. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy not only the music, but also the beautiful setting of the Middle Fork River Forest Preserve, a perfect backdrop for a summer night out.
