Local Choir Students Shine at Illinois Music Education All-State Choir
In an impressive display of musical talent, fifth-grade students from Lincoln Trail Elementary and sixth-graders from Mahomet Seymour Junior High participated in the esteemed Illinois Music Education All-State Choir this past Saturday. These young vocalists joined forces with peers from across the state, showcasing their skills in a memorable performance.
The selected students were nominated and subsequently chosen to represent their schools in this prestigious event. They performed three songs at each grade level, demonstrating their vocal prowess and ability to collaborate in a large ensemble.
Mahomet-Seymour’s music instructors, Sue Keeble, Brian Lonergan, and Nicole Kuglich, played a pivotal role in preparing these young talents for the event. Their guidance and expertise were key in helping the students achieve this high level of performance.
The fifth-grade choir from Lincoln Trail Elementary included talented singers Liam Culp, Claire Wenger, Kanisha Sahoo, Ruixuan Tang, Olivia Spiller, Adalyn Thomann, Kaleb Decker, Colt Reese, and Harper Allen. These young voices blended beautifully to create harmonious and captivating performances.
The sixth-grade choir from Mahomet Seymour Junior High featured equally impressive vocalists: Cordelia Kiehl, Torrie Freeman, Brooke Patrick, Lainey Crowley, Paisley McDuffee, Clayton Tinsman, Caroline Houser, Luke Sweet, and Norah Oprondek. Their participation in the All State Choir underscores the depth of talent and dedication present in these young musicians.
This event not only provided a platform for these students to showcase their musical abilities but also served as a significant learning experience, allowing them to interact and perform with other students who share their passion for music.
