Leyhe and Ribbe win titles at MWI Invitational

Two Mahomet-Seymour wrestlers won championships in their weight classes on Saturday (Jan. 13) in the MWI Invitational, helping the Bulldogs to a runner-up finish in the 10-school tournament.
Isabelle Leyhe (120 pounds) and Grace Ribbe (190 pounds) won titles in their weight classes.
Leyhe (16-2) won all three of her bouts, including pins in 26 seconds and in 1:25.
Ribbe (7-4) was 2-0, pinning her foes in 40 seconds and 1:03.
Placing third for the Bulldogs were Lilyan Daniels (120 pounds) and Jaycee Fancher (125 pounds).
Daniels had a 1-2 tourney record, posting her first pin of the season in 2:56.
Fancher (15-6) compiled a 3-2 record. All of her wins were by pin: 16 seconds, 35 seconds and 3:34.
The other M-S competitor was Kalista Granadino (15-6), who finished fourth at 115 pounds. She had a 1-3 tourney record, earning a pin in 3:26.
For the tourney, M-S grapplers had a cumulative 10-9 record and posted nine pins.
