Lady Bulldogs finish Prairie Hawk Classic with a three-game winning streak

Mahomet-Seymour’s girls’ basketball team finished the week with a three-game winning streak and a runner-up finish in the Prairie Central Hawk Classic in Fairbury.
The Bulldogs (3-1) posted back-to-back double-figure victories on Thursday and Saturday, starting with a 43-26 triumph over Pontiac and closing with a 45-25 win over the host Hawks.
Kailyn Northrup hit a season-high 18 points against Pontiac and also cleared five rebounds and added five steals.
Maddy Wade scored 10 points and Ashley Wheeler added six points.
Keida Nichols registered team-high totals of seven rebounds and five assists.
Abby Kyle had five rebounds and four assists.
Against Prairie Central, Wade hit a team-high 12 points and also led with four assists.
Northrup scored 10 points and Nichols added nine points to go with a team-high eight rebounds.
Amelia Childress grabbed six rebounds and Northrup had five.
M-S will play its home-opener on Nov. 26 against Mount Zion.
