Koerner, Orgeron and Thomas help Bulldogs advance to IHSA 3A Regional Finals

The Bulldogs gained a measure of revenge for a 15-point loss to Urbana earlier this month with a 59-39 triumph on Tuesday in the semifinals of the Decatur MacArthur Class 3A regional.
M-S, which made 11 of 14 free throws, led 15-5 after one quarter and 25-16 at halftime.
Cayla Koerner was one of three Bulldogs to score in double figures. She fired in a team-high 16 points.
Savannah Orgeron and Durbin Thomas each contributed 14 points.
Orgeron handled a team-high seven rebounds. Makayla Rosenbery had six rebounds and three steals. Koerner ended with three assists and three steals.
Thomas’ all-around game included seven assists, five rebounds and four steals. Ashley Wheeler grabbed five rebounds.
The Bulldogs netted 51 percent of their field goal attempts (21 of 41).
M-S (18-13) returns to action at 7 p.m. on Thursday in the regional championship game against host MacArthur.
