Kelton Hennesy finishes at fourth, and top freshmen at Tiger Kick-Off Classic

Mahomet-Seymour’s Kelton Hennesy was the top freshman finisher from any school on Monday (Aug. 15) in the 15-school Tiger Kick-off Classic golf tournament at Urbana Country Club.
Hennesy fired a 76 and placed fourth individually.
One other Bulldog secured a top-20 placement. Leif Olson was 17th with an 80.
Other M-S competitors were Reis Claybrooke (83), Jacob Schoudel (83), Brogan Hennesy (87) and Parker Clements (98).
Team honors were captured by Champaign Central (316). M-S placed third (322).
On Tuesday (Aug. 16), at Lake of the Woods, the Bulldogs handled Tuscola, 161-208, in a dual meet. A junior varsity team from M-S combined to shoot a 165.
Claybrooke (36) was the meet’s medalist. Teammates Olson and Blake Harvey tied for third with 41s.
Also in the varsity lineup were: Schoudel (43), Kelton Hennesy (44) and Riley Dowers (46).
Leaders for the M-S JV squad were Cole Thrasher (40), Zach Blumenshine (41), Clements (42), Carter Henrikson (42), Brogan Hennesy (43), Ethan Peterka (45) and Aden Bergman (46).
M-S will return to action on Thursday (Aug. 25) at Tuscola’s Ironhorse Golf Course.
