Katz top-four finisher at Urbana Invitational

Max Katz was a top-four placer in two events on Saturday, helping the M-S boys’ swimming and diving team to a fourth-place finish in the seven-school Urbana Invitational.
Katz was the diving runner-up and placed fourth in the 100-yard backstroke.
Three other Bulldogs were also top 10 placers in two individual events.
Zach Orr took sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke and seventh in the 200-yard individual medley. Caden Raquel was seventh in the 100-yard butterfly and ninth in the 200-yard individual medley. David Andrawes placed eighth in the 100-yard backstroke and 10th in the 200-yard freestyle.
Evan Herriott ended fourth in the 100-yard freestyle, Mitch McAnally captured eighth in the 50-yard freestyle, Mark Guttierrez was eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke and Levi Frost finished ninth in the 100-yard freestyle.
The M-S 200-yard medley relay registered a season-best time of 1 minute, 57.45 seconds and finished third. The swimmers were Katz, Orr, McAnally and Herriott .
Team honors were won by Pontiac with 427 points. Following the Indians were O’Fallon (387), Bloomington Central Catholic (363), M-S (343), Charleston (256), Urbana (231) and Danville (146).
M-S returns to action on Saturday in the Olympia Invitational.
