Katz top diver Tuesday

Mahomet-Seymour’s Max Katz was the top diver on Tuesday in a three-school boys’ swimming meet in Champaign.
The Bulldogs defeated Danville 149-93, but lost to the host Maroons, 169-117.
Katz was also the third-place finisher in the 100-yard backstroke.
Two other M-S swimmers were the runner-up in their specialties. Evan Herriott was second in the 200-yard freestyle and Zach Orr was second in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Herriott added a third-place performance in the 100-yard freestyle. Orr placed fourth in the 500-yard freestyle.
Carter Logsdon captured third-place finishes in both the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly. Caden Raquel took third in the 200-yard individual medley and followed up with a fourth in the 100-yard butterfly.
Another double-placer for M-S was David Andrawes with a fourth in the 50-yard freestyle and a fifth in the 100-yard backstroke.
Four other squad members nabbed top five placements.
Mitchell McAnally was fourth in the 100-yard freestyle.
Placing fifth for the Bulldogs were Kent Saban (200 freestyle), Aiden Yates (50 freestyle) and Ethan Scheiding (500 freestyle).
M-S returns to action on Saturday in the Bloomington Invitational.
