The Mahomet-Seymour Community Unit School District No. 3 has announced the appointment of Jessica Bryson as its new Director of Communications, a position created to lead the district’s strategic messaging and public relations efforts.
Bryson brings 10 years of communication experience to the role. An Eastern Illinois University graduate, Bryson has worked as a Junior Account Executive at 71 West and Communications and Public Relations Coordinator at Tap-In Academy. She served as Marketing Manager at RE/MAX Realty Associates from 2017 to 2020. During her tenure at RE/MAX, Bryson likely worked alongside Max McComb, a current member of the Mahomet-Seymour Board of Education and a local Realtor® with RE/MAX Realty Associates.
As Director of Communications, Bryson will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies across digital, print, and social media platforms. Her duties include managing editorial calendars, crafting messaging aligned with district goals, and serving as the primary liaison between the district and its stakeholders. The position also involves tracking and analyzing communication performance, providing guidance on brand storytelling, and ensuring consistent outreach to families, staff, and the wider community.
Bryson’s contract, approved by the Board on June 16, 2025, is for a one-year term beginning July 1, 2025, with a base annual salary of $82,000. The district sought to pay $60-90K for this position. The role includes standard benefits such as health and life insurance, vacation, sick, and personal leave, and opportunities for professional development.
According to the IASB Report Card, the average teacher salary is $59,815. A first year teacher with a bachelor’s degree makes $46,788, per the 2022 negotiated contract.
